Thanks to Andrew for letting us know that Scarlett will host Saturday Night Live next Saturday, 14th January 2006. The musical guest will be Death Cab For Cutie. View the SNL website for further information.
Andrew also informed us that Scarlett was voted #12 on Much Music’s (Canada) “Who To Do List” A list based on looks, and success. Well done, Ms. Johansson! 😉
Scarlett Johansson’s multi- million deal with L’Oreal has been confirmed.
The actress will be the face of the new colour line: HIP High Intensity Pigments.
According to Woman’s Wear Daily the deal is worth $3million and the company hope to generate $50 million of sales in the first year. Johansson said:” It’s wonderful to be working with L’Oreal, a company that has celebrated independent women for years.
“I’m very excited to be part of this campaign, which is modern and fashion forward.” (Source)
I finally managed to see Match Point, and I have to say I really liked it – Scarlett was amazing as usual! She had less screentime than I expected, but the time she could be seen she lighted up the screen. Her role has a lot of facettes and she definitely managed to show them all. Unfortunately the German dubbings were pretty much awful, and this took away quite a lot from me. I guess I really have to see it again in English. Oh, and I really really liked Emily Mortimer’s performance as well. 🙂
On to the news. 😉 Scarlett was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for Match Point at the Chicago Film Critics Awards which have been announced on Dec 31 and the award show will be held on Jan 9. Scarlett is up against Amy Adams, Maria Bello, Catherine Keener, Rachel Weisz and Michelle Williams.
Secondly, Scarlett was named the #2 Best Dressed by calgarysun.com for 2005: “That Woody Allen has declared her his new muse is not surprising. She’s beautiful, she has that raw, throaty voice and she dresses impeccably.
Sure, she has the occasional misstep every now and then. Who doesn’t? Like when her hair (white) matches her skin (soooo white).
That’s no good. But mostly, she dresses like a respectable starlet in classy gowns paired with cute shoes and makeup to die for.
But she better watch her back, because Canadian Rachel McAdams is just as pretty, poised and talented.
And Woody Allen is nothing, if not fickle. “
And lastly, Scarlett is featured on the cover of the current Portrait magazine which is an awesome online magazine, so check it out! We have also won “Site Of The Month” there, so thank you Kat! 🙂
Today is Scarlett’s 21st birthday! 🙂 Scarlett, may you have a wonderful day with your loved ones. We wish you all the best!!!
If you want to leave your wishes for her you can do so in our forum. Thanks!
I couldn’t believe it when I read the news, but appearantly Scarlett will star in another new movie – she currently is in negotiations to star in “The Nanny Diaries,” an adaptation of the best-selling novel about a college student who works for a family from hell. Scarlett would play the aptly named Nan, who juggles the Park Avenue household’s marital woes, her classes, a romance and a spoiled kid.
Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini, who wrote and directed 2003’s “American Splendor,” are in talks to direct the film from their adaptation of the book by former nannies Nicola Kraus and Emma McLaughlin. The Weinstein Co. project is eyeing a February start date in Toronto and New York. I have to say that this project sounds quite good, and I really hope the movie will be made. 🙂
Johansson to Play an Amazon Warrior
Moshe Diamant’s Signature Pictures has made a deal to finance Amazon, a vehicle for Scarlett Johansson to play a gladiatrix from 200 B.C. who exacts vengeance on an army that destroyed her homeland. Variety says that Dirk Blackman and Howard McCain will write the script.
The trade adds that the idea for Johansson to play an Amazon warrior came from the actress, who mentioned it to screenwriters Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci while they worked together on The Island. That duo will produce with Melanie Johansson, Gilles Arondeau and Alexandra Milchan-Lambert.
They drafted Blackman and McCain, who just wrote Outlander, a period Viking saga that McCain will direct for Ascendant Pictures and The Weinstein Co.; production on that project starts next June in New Zealand.
