Following the overwhelming success of the 2005 celebrity charm bracelet in aid of Cancer Research UK, Wallis is delighted to launch the stunning 2007 version, a long silver rope charm necklace, decorated with six unique charms each designed by a well-know celebrity or designer.
Designers were asked to take inspiration from whatever they liked, or from what they are best known for. They then had to sketch their charm, choose the colour and material and give it a name.
Well-known designers of the charms include Scarlett Johansson, who designed a delicate lily in white, yellow and orange enamel, because ‘I’ve always loved enamel jewellery and I was looking at a lily when approached about the project.’ Scarlett agreed to take part because she believes that ‘in today’s world, cancer affects everyone, whether it’s your own personal crisis or that of someone you know.’ She adds, ‘any opportunity to support cancer research brings us closer to a cure.’
New Line is in negotiations with Ben Affleck to round out the cast of ensemble comedy He’s Just Not That Into You, with Drew Barrymore and Nancy Juvonen producing through their Flower Films banner.

Along with Affleck and Barrymore, You will star Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Connelly, Kevin Connolly, Bradley Cooper, Ginnifer Goodwin, Scarlett Johansson and Justin Long.
Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein (Never Been Kissed) adapted the bestseller about modern-day relationships by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo, who worked together on Sex and the City. The book focuses on how men and women often misconstrue the intentions of the opposite sex.
Coming as #6 on the box office list, The Nanny Diaries grossed an estimated $7.8 million this weekend from 2,629 locations, proving another difficult release for The Weinstein Company and distribution partner MGM. Here are some related quotes:
When it came to chick film The Nanny Diaries, the film took in most of its haul from bigger cities, with audiences in smaller cities and towns largely failing to turn out. TWC is expected to tweak its media buying campaign to target locales where the nanny concept isn’t as prevalent as in big cities.
TWC co-chair Harvey Weinstein said word-of-mouth and an increased targeted marketing campaign should build buzz and turnout in those smaller markets. Pic also stars Laura Linney and Paul Giamatti.
“As we head into the Labor Day weekend holiday, we are committed to marketing the film to audiences all over the country and expect that it will continue to play,” Weinstein said.
From E! News:
The Nanny Diaries, the boss-from-hell tale that preceded The Devil Wears Prada in print but followed it to big screen, didn’t come close to matching Devil’s box-office might, thanks to an unfashionable $7.8 million opening weekend, per Exhibitor Relations Co. estimates.
“This is a book that took the literary world by storm, but filmdom is another story entirely,” Exhibitor Relations’ Jeff Bock said Sunday.
I’ve added two new articles:
“I’m a confident young woman. I think along with that comes sexual confidence. But I don’t think that means I’m terribly frisky. I don’t objectify myself. But I like to celebrate my curves and girliness.”
Also, according to The Late Night TV Page, Scarlett is set to appear on Late Night with Conan O’Brien on Friday, August 31, 2007. Now, she is also supposed to be at the Venice Film Festival in Italy during that same day so I am a little confused. But I wanted to inform you anyway. If she does appear, we will have a video clip and caps of this.
Happy The Nanny Diaries day! After all of those release date changes, Scarlett’s newest film finally opens today in North America. The critics’ reviews have been mixed but I’d rather hear what the fans think of the film and Scarlett’s performance. So be sure to head out to see it and let us know your opinion!
You can check out the reviews thread over at the forum to read more of the critics’ thoughs. I’ve included a few here that mention Scarlett:
From The Hollywood Reporter:
Johansson is game. There’s nothing to criticize in this performance, but there’s nothing to get excited about, either. It’s solid though uninspired work.
From Charlotte Observer:
Johansson, hair dyed brown to make her seem less glamorous, spices up this bland role.
Johansson, for her part, essays an engaging heroine, though even with mousy brown hair and Casual Corner wardrobe, she’s far too voluptuously beautiful for the job, like a Tiffany necklace in a brown paper bag.
From Seattle Post-Intelligencer:
Although Johansson has a knack for nailing most roles, the angry yet fun-loving nanny doesn’t quite work for her.
Mycah has sent in a bunch of amazing goodies. These include three The Nanny Diaries related videos from ET. The most interesting one is from August 22. In it we get to see some of Nicholas Art’s audition with Scarlett and she is also interviewed briefly. Mycah also made captures from all of these news segments. Last but not least, we’ve added two more stills.
BBC News has published another article with further details regarding the Boleyn Girl re-shoots at Ely Cathedral in England.
Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman are among the Hollywood stars who are to film at Ely Cathedral.
The landmark called The Ship of the Fens is to be used as a location for the film The Other Boleyn Girl.
The film, based on the novel by Philippa Gregory, also stars actors Kirstin Scott Thomas and Eric Bana.
Filming will take place on 28, 29 and 30 August. Both the cathedral and the Stained Glass Museum will be closed during these three days.
I came across three unseen stills of Scarlett Johansson looking lovely as Annie Braddock in The Nanny Diaries.
Also, Roxana of Alicia-Keys.net has made Scarlett-Fan.com their Site of the Moment. Big thanks to her! Be sure to check out this ultimate source on Scarlett’s TND co-star.

I’ve added a wonderful new Scarlett article from USA Today. Be sure to read the full feature here. Here are some highlights that I’ve picked:
– Scarlett says her album will be released in October
– She says she feels a bit guilty about her upcoming album because it just fell in her lap. Warner Bros. reps heard her sing on Unexpected Dreams and offered her a contract
– She plans to go to Iraq this year with the USO to visit U.S. servicemen: “I get letters from guys my age and younger. I wanted to go in October, but it may be a little later”
– Natalie Portman on Scarlett: “She’s a spicy girl. She’s got wonderful energy. She’s very, very smart. She always says what she feels but always tactfully”
– She reads a lot of biographies of Old Hollywood talents and feels a lot of times like she was born in the wrong era
– She believes in rewarding herself after working hard and may take a road trip in the US after the filming wraps in Spain
– She is interested in going to Africa to do charity work
“I know how lucky I am,” she says. “I have friends. I’m doing what I want to do. I can travel. I also have an opportunity to make some sort of difference.”
