Annu has found some great scoop regarding Scarlett’s upcoming album.
According to this article the album will be released October 7 in the US and in Australia next year through Warner Music:
For almost a year, she has worked on an album of Tom Waits covers to be released on October 7 in the US and in Australia next year through Warner Music.
“I’ve always been a huge fan of Tom Waits,” she says. “And I had this golden opportunity to make an album however I wanted. I see Tom Waits as being a composer of modern standards, so it seemed appropriate that I could interpret his songs. Obviously, it’s not an album where I’m trying to sound like him. That would be impossible. He writes such beautiful songs and incredible melodies, and they’re so cinematic and open-ended, so I felt it would be something that I could be inspired by.”
And if you check out Play.com, they’ve listed an album titled “Anywhere I Lay My Head” by Scarlett ‘Johanssen’ to be released March 3, 2008. For more information and how to pre-order, click here.
Thanks again for the information, Annu!
Scarlett Johansson, alongside such celebrities as Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Mariah Carey, Drew Barrymore, Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, Gisele Bundchen, Jamie Dornan and Selma Blair, will appear nude in the new issue of Visionare magazine. They will all be shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott for the issue titled “Private”.
The limited edition (2,500 copies) issue will be released in early October and will cost a hefty $375.
Edit: A number of fans have kindly emailed me saying that they would be interested in participating to the costs of the magazine to get one scanned for the site. I hate to ask but I am a student and there is no way that I’d be able to afford $375 by myself. If you’d be interested in contributing to the costs of the magazine, please email me at email@example.com stating how much you’d be able to send in. If there are enough contributors, I will set up a PayPal account for the magazine.
Again, thank you so much to everyone who were kind enough to suggest this! It is much appreciated.
W magazine launched its first ever I-List in its October issue. What is an I-List you ask? It stands for Influential list, where W naming the most influential people and places shaping today’s fashion and style. Instead of just featuring rich celebrities and models, the list includes doctors, lawyers, successful business women and men, environmentalists and of course fashion designers. Winners include Scarlett Johansson for Throwing Curves, Anne Hathaway for being The Anti-Lindsay, and Vera Wang for being the High-Low Queen. Here’s what they had to say about Scarlett:
Throwing Curves – Scarlett Johansson: for maintaining her bombshell proportions that set her apart from her cookie-cutter contemporaries.
I’ve updated with a set of pictures of Scarlett on the set of He’s Just Not That Into You yesterday. It looks like she was not too keen on being photographed, hence I only added a couple of shots to showcase her look.
