Scarlett’s been a bit busy this days attending several events all of them theatre-related. Sorry for the lack of updates, but better late than never! Here you’ve got some new additions. Scarlett at the Drama League Awards celebrated on May 21st (wearing a Zac Posen dress), and at the Drama Desk Awards on May 23rd (looking gorgeous in that Dolce & Gabbana dress). Enjoy!

Scarlett is featured on the cover of this week’s issue of Time Out New York.  I don’t have access to this where I live so if there is anyone willing to donate scans, we’d greatly appreciate it.  A preview of the cover and interview are below.
TimeOut

Scarlett, a lot of movie actors who try theater get destroyed by critics. Are you concerned about being raked over the coals?
Johansson: The only thing that worries me about that is that I wouldn’t have the opportunity to work again. I’ve been praised, criticized and dragged through the dirt for 17 years. It would be heartbreaking, but what else can I do? Not go there?
Schreiber: That is really the heart of it. Once you get past all the hurt feelings and the ego, the truth is you just want to keep working.
Johansson: What else do we have? What, would we open a bakery? [Laughs]
Schreiber: It’s like the silly actor games: If you’re not prepared to make a complete jackass of yourself, in front of not only the audience but also the actors, then you’re not worth the money they paid to get into the theater.

According to New York Post, Scarlett is in the running to play Nellie Forbush in a revival of South Pacific at Lincoln Center.

Lincoln Center and director Bartlett Sher, who staged the theater’s Tony Award-winning musical The Light in the Piazza last year, have already begun drawing up plans for the January 2008 production.

Reese Witherspoon and Kelli O’Hara (The Pajama Game) are also on Lincoln Center’s wish list. But Johansson is known to be a huge fan of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein, and her agents have been telling theater producers that she’d love to star in a Broadway show.

Scarlett is featured on the cover of the April Issue of Entertainment Weekly promoting Black Widow.
Even as journalists and fans repeatedly asked Johansson when Black Widow would be going solo, the actress was privately unsure whether that was something she even wanted. “I was like, I think I’m good,” Johansson admits. “If we [were] going to do this, it had to be creatively fulfilling. I’ve been working for such a long time, and I have to feel like I’m challenged. I don’t want to do the same thing that I’d already done before.”
