On October 04th, Scarlett made a stop at the 57th New York Fiilm Festival for her new movie Marriage Story with co-stars Adam Drive, Laura Dern and director Noah Baumbach, Thr day began with a press conference at the at Walter Reade Theater but unfortunately Scarlett was a little late to it thanks to New York traffic but she did make it in the end for more of it. I have added to the gallery photos from it and you can watch the full video below.

The Marriage Story press conference at the 57th New York Fiilm Festival featured Noah Baumbach, Scarlett Johansson, Adam Driver, Laura Dern, Ray Liotta, Alan Alda, and producer David Heyman. They discuss the influences on the film–from Hitchcock to Persona–Robbie Ryan’s cinematography, the duality of marriage, the importance of adding humor to the narrative, the different personalities of the lawyers, and much more. Moderated by Florence Almozini, NYFF selection committee member and Associate Director of Programming at Film at Lincoln Center.

Noah Baumbach’s new film is about the rapid tangling and gradual untangling of impetuosity, resentment, and abiding love between a married couple negotiating their divorce and the custody of their son. Adam Driver is Charlie, a 100-percent New York experimental theater director; Scarlett Johansson is Nicole, his principal actress and soon-to-be L.A.-based ex-wife. Their “amicable” breakup devolves, one painful rash response and hostile counter-response at a time, into a legal battlefield, led on Nicole’s side by Laura Dern and on Charlie’s side by nice Alan Alda and not-so-nice Ray Liotta. What is so remarkable about Marriage Story is its frank understanding of the emotional fluctuations between Charlie and Nicole: they are both short-sighted, both occasionally petty, both vindictive, and both loving. The film is as harrowing as it is hilarious as it is deeply moving. With Merritt Wever and Julie Hagerty as Nicole’s sister and mom, and Azhy Robertson as their beloved son, Henry. A Netflix release.

A centerpiece of New York culture since 1963, the New York Film Festival will introduce the most essential new cinematic works from around the world to U.S. audiences in its Main Slate. NYFF will also continue to feature a variety of titles in different sections and sidebars, including Spotlight on Documentary, newly rejuvenated classics in Restorations and Revivals, a diverse selection of international and locally made Shorts, the ever-expanding experimental showcase Projections, and the immersive storytelling experiences of the cutting-edge Convergence. Additionally, there will be an exciting lineup of special events, free filmmaker talks and panel discussions, and the latest editions of our annual Industry and Critic Academies.

After the screening of Scarlett’s new movie Marriage Story at The 76th Venice Film Festival reviews for started to come in from the critics and 23 of them have added it to Rotten Tomatoes and at this time its at 100% and amazing turn out for all involved with this movie and for Scarlett who’s name is now being talk about for maybe a Oscar nomination for it.

A marriage can’t be defined by a single emotion. It’s an all-consuming force that can lead to euphoric rushes and eat away at your insides, sometimes within moments of each other. Marriage Story perfectly encapsulates these feelings.
– As he did with the underrated While We’re Young, Baumbach is turning his signature comedies of urban dissatisfaction into something more universal. He has earned these scars.
– A powerful reminder that every breakup story looks familiar until it happens to you, and then the truth hurts.
– The writing is suitably dense and literate, though Baumbach really cherishes the characters as individuals – it never feels as if Nicole and Charlie are avatars for his own poetic musings on the differences between love and fidelity.
– It has fine performances by Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver, a family-pack of box-fresh dialogue and a keen sense of its own absurdity.

filmlinc – Film at Lincoln Center announces Noah Baumbach’s Marriage Story as Centerpiece of the 57th New York Film Festival (September 27 – October 13), making its New York premiere at Alice Tully Hall on Friday, October 4, 2019. Marriage Story will be released in select theaters and on Netflix later this year.

Their “amicable” breakup devolves, one painful rash response and hostile counter-response at a time, into a legal battlefield, led on Nicole’s side by Laura Dern and on Charlie’s side by “nice” Alan Alda and “not-so-nice” Ray Liotta.

“What amazed me about Marriage Story is the way that Noah keeps the many conflicting emotions between his characters flowing into and around and under and over each other, so beautifully that the film achieves the condition of music,” said New York Film Festival Director and Selection Committee Chair Kent Jones. “In fact, it actually flowers into song in two of the film’s loveliest and most surprising moments. Marriage Story is a heartbreaker, it’s very funny, and it has an emotional complexity that’s worthy of Bergman.”

“I grew up coming to the New York Film Festival with my parents. And it’s where my first film Kicking and Screaming premiered 24 years ago,” said Baumbach. “I couldn’t be more thrilled and proud that Marriage Story has been selected as Centerpiece of the NYFF. The 14-year-old me’s mind is blown; the 49-year-old me’s mind is also blown.”

Presented by Film at Lincoln Center, the 17-day New York Film Festival highlights the best in world cinema, featuring works from celebrated filmmakers as well as fresh new talent. The selection committee, chaired by Jones, also includes Dennis Lim, FLC Director of Programming, and Florence Almozini, FLC Associate Director of Programming.

Tickets for the 57th New York Film Festival will go on sale to the general public on September 8. Festival and VIP passes are on sale now and offer one of the earliest opportunities to purchase tickets and secure seats at some of the festival’s biggest events, including Centerpiece. Johansson also felt an almost eerie sense of connection when Baumbach handed her the monologue over lunch in the fall of 2017.“It was the first piece Noah gave me, and it felt familiar somehow, but not because of what I’d been experiencing then,” says the actress, 34, who at the time was embroiled in her own separation, from French curator Romain Dauriac. “But maybe because of how I grew up, and the dynamic between my parents—or maybe because I’ve known women who’ve dedicated themselves to their partner’s vision and then come out of this decade-long relationship feeling almost like a ghost.” She adds that she, too, has been in that place, and that the truth in Nicole’s story was what excited her. “I didn’t hesitate at all, because I knew that I’d have the opportunity to say those words,” she says. “Noah gave me that monologue, and I was like, ‘Well, shit, come on.’ Am I going to be like, ‘Nah, I’m good—let some other actor have that’? No way.”
